In this article we will discuss how to find your windows license key when it is necessary.
Check Your Documentation:
It is quite common that customers receive their product’s registration information with purchase receipts or in manual packaging materials they receive with their products either at store or through online vendor websites like Amazon and eBay etc., so if you ever purchased any version of Microsoft Windows then first start checking all documents provided along with it for your license key/product-key details printed somewhere on them in form 25 alphanumeric character string separated into 5 group of five characters each ex: ABCDE-FGHIJ-KLMNO-PQRST-UVWXY . Looking from Inside Windows :
You can also locate your valid product id by looking inside installed windows itself; Clicking on the Start menu and then type “cmd” without quotations, at the top of results you will see Command Prompt option which you need to open by clicking it, as soon as its window will appear just type in following command : wmic path software licensing service get OA3xOriginalProductKey.
It will instantly return a 25 digit alphanumeric key printed below this line which is your valid windows license/product key. You can copy paste or note it down somewhere safely so that you don't misplace it again!

If you have bought Windows 10 online then you can sign in to Microsoft Store website for access to your digital license key; just locate the product section by using search bar and select appropriate version of Windows which you purchased - click on it, then proceed with a payment page as new people do normally but if you already own it then there will be an option at the very bottom displaying “Already Bought” button that says View Product Key – use this link & follow procedure once prompted after sign-in with your account information.
